چکیده

The purpose of this paper is to develop a conceptual model of multiagent system composed of a set of BDI agents based on role modeling and modal logic of interaction. Agents perform actions taking roles within a scenario that obeys a plan conformed for a set of goals and establishes relations between the participants. These plans and relations define interactions between agents. All interactions are divided in communicative and physical ones; a common model of interactions of the both types is proposed for its further formalization as a modal logic of interaction. The key characteristics of this logic are dynamic reasoning and dynamic plan executions modeled through modal categories.

Complexity of multiagent BDI logics with restricted modal context

We present and discuss a novel language restriction for modal logics for multiagent systems that can reduce the complexity of the satisfiability problem from EXPTIME-hard to NPTIME-complete. In the discussion we focus on a particular BDI logic, called TeamLog, which is a logic for modelling cooperating groups of agents and which possesses some of the characteristics typical to other BDI logics....

Complexity of the Logic for Multiagent Systems with Restricted Modal Context

In this paper we continue our research in computational complexity of fragments of a particular belief-desire-intention (BDI) logic for cooperative problem solving (CPS) called TeamLog. The logic in question combines propositional multi-modal logic to express static aspects of CPS with propositional dynamic logic used for dynamic aspects of CPS. We concentrate here on the static fragment of the...

Obligations in a BDI Agent Architecture

This paper presents a conceptual model that adds mental states, capable of dealing with social elements, to BDI architectures. It has long been recognized that social elements enhance multi-agent performance. Ideas for extending BDI architectures to incorporate norms, values and obligations are presented. Norms and values endow multi-agent systems with social attributes thereby facilitating the...

Towards a Framework for Reasoning About Emotional BDI Agents

The BDI model of agency is a well studied concept in Formal Logic for Rational Agents, mainly through the BDICTL [7] and KARO [7] logical frameworks. The former is based on the Branching Time Logic CTL [3], whereas the latter in based on Dynamic Logic [4]. Both have advantages and disadvantages, but the union of some properties of both frameworks provide, in our opinion, all the formal tools th...

Reasoning about BDI Agents from a Programming Languages Perspective

In this paper, we summarize an approach to reasoning about a class of BDI agent architectures based on PRS. The theory is formalized using a logic, Agent Dynamic Logic (ADL), that combines elements from Computation Tree Logic, Propositional Dynamic Logic and Rao and Georgeff’s BDI Logic. The motivation of this work is to develop a logical framework that is at once rigorous in providing formal n...
